Ulster Wildlife Trust Visit.

15th May 2019

We had a visit from Shannon, a Red Squirrel Officer, who came to our school on Monday 13th May, as a follow up to the sighting of a red squirrel within our school grounds. She brought models of red and grey squirrels and spoke to all the pupils at a special assembly about them in terms of the difference between them, what they eat, their habitat and how we can help to protect the red squirrel. Pupils were extremely interested and were able to share family sightings of the red squirrel in Kilbroney Park. She looked around the school and plans to make a red squirrel feeder to put up within our school grounds and go on a squirrel walk with some classes.
