School Assembly - Feabhas

17th Apr 2026

This morning, pupils and staff came together for our ninth assembly of the school year, marking the start of our final term. With exciting events ahead such as Sports Day, school trips and competitions, pupils were reminded that this busy term can also feel tiring. Everyone was encouraged to look after one another by thinking carefully about the impact of their words and actions.

We began with prayers and lighting a candle to remind us that God is always with us. Special prayers were offered for our Primary Four pupils as they begin preparing for their First Holy Communion.

Our focus value for April is Excellence, which means always trying your best, never giving up and taking pride in your work. Pupils explored how excellence can be shown through everyday actions, such as persevering with challenges, helping others and making positive choices. Two pupils received the Gradam an Phríomhoide - Cillian (P7) for a thoughtful and mature conversation and also, Ella-Rose (P3) for consistently helping others without being asked.

We were then introduced to our next value, Responsibility, which focuses on taking ownership of our actions, learning and choices. Pupils discussed practical ways this can be shown in school, helping to keep our environment respectful, safe and welcoming.

Teachers presented Réalt na Seachtaine certificates, celebrating children in each class who have been making a special effort, showing positive behaviour and living out our school values every day. These awards highlight the many ways pupils contribute to making our school such a happy and respectful place to learn.

Our assembly concluded with birthday celebrations, a PATHS thought for the week and our final prayer and hymn.
