Teanga, Cluichí agus Cultúr Beo i Naomh Brónagh – Gaelic Games, Language and Culture Alive in St Bronagh’s
A great day was had today by our Gaelic Football representatives who took part in two incredibly important occasions for our school.
Our first group travelled to Attical GAC to participate in a Gaelic Football and Irish Language competition organised by Conradh na Gaeilge Boirche Íochtar. Their challenge was to use their Gaeilge alongside their Gaelic skills on the pitch. Not an easy task, but one our pupils embraced with great enthusiasm and confidence. Bhí siad ar fheabhas ar fad! Maith sibh a chairde.
At the same time, we had a group of eight young men representing our school in the Cumann na mBunscol Boys Indoor Final in Burren GAC. After a fantastic display our boys were crowned County Champions and will now go on to represent An Dún in the Ulster Finals. Éacht iontach!
While today brought success on the scoreboard, both events were equally important to us. We are immensely proud of all our pupils who showed that our language, games and culture are alive and flourishing in St Bronagh’s.
A massive go raibh míle maith agaibh to Rostrevor GAA for their ongoing support of our school.
As the saying goes, “It takes a community to raise a child,” and we are very proud to be part of a community that supports our children every day.
