Today we had an environmental event with our partners from Dromore Road Primary School, Warrenpoint. Patrick Mc Shane, environmental officer from Newry, Mourne and Down District Council gave an interactive and informative presentation to Primary’s 4 to 7 pupils and staff on the topic of Litter, Waste and single use plastics.
Together pupils and staff from both schools learned about our council area, areas of outstanding natural beauty and the types of waste that we produce on a daily basis. We also learned about the consequences of not disposing of waste properly.
Pupils from both Dromore Road and St. Bronagh’s Primary eco councils believe that together we can make a difference and save our planet. They are planning to get out and about in our area of natural beauty and take part in litter picks in Kilbroney Forest and along Warrenpoint coast line to ensure our environment remains green and clean so everyone can enjoy the beauty of where we live.
