3D Shape Towers in Primary 2
4th Dec 2025
Over the past few weeks, Primary 2 pupils have been learning about 3D shapes and their properties. To put this learning into practice, they designed and built towers using a variety of 3D shapes such as cubes, cuboids, cylinders, and cones. Whilst having fun and working with their friends, they were also learning to:
- Identify and name 3D shapes in real-life contexts.
- Explore size and stability when stacking different shapes.
- Use mathematical language like tall, short, beside, and on top.
- Work creatively and collaboratively while problem-solving.
Primary 2 had such great morning building their shape towers and it was a great way to combine numeracy with practical construction skills. Maith sibh, P2!
