We were delighted to welcome Rostrevor man and star of the international stage John Bird Jr to Band Blub yesterday. John did a workshop with the children, talking to them about his music career, his 1970s electric bass guitar and how he started off in school learning the double bass. He spoke about his experience touring with Niall Horan, the ups ans downs of a life on the road. John played some of his own songs to a mesmerised audience! John told the children of his days as a child in Rostrevor singing in the choir, and how important it is to keep up group singing and instruments if you want a career in music! John gave each of the children a gift of a special plectrum from the Niall Horan tour.
