Green Flag Award Ceremony
A huge congratulations to our wonderful Eco-Committee who have helped St Bronagh’s secure our 7th consecutive Eco-Schools Green Flag Award.
The award was presented at the Green Flag Award Ceremony in Downpatrick on Friday 12th June and is a fantastic recognition of the commitment, enthusiasm and hard work shown by our pupils, staff and wider school community.
Achieving the Green Flag for the seventh consecutive time demonstrates how deeply environmental care is embedded into everyday life at St Bronagh’s. From recycling initiatives and outdoor learning to planting, growing, reducing waste and caring for our local environment, our Eco-Committee continue to lead by example and inspire others across the school.
We are incredibly proud of our pupils for the responsibility they show in looking after God’s creation and helping to make our school and community a greener, cleaner place.
A very special congratulations also goes to Mrs Downey, who was invited to be a guest speaker at the ceremony. This was a wonderful recognition of her passion, leadership and long-standing commitment to Eco-Schools.
We are also delighted that Mrs Downey received the personal accolade of Eco-Teacher of the Year for this academic year. This is a very special and well-deserved recognition of the time, energy and dedication she has given to environmental education in St Bronagh’s over many years.
Well done to our Eco-Committee and well done Mrs Downey. We are so proud of you all!
Maith sibh uilig!
