Celebrating World Book Day at St. Bronagh’s📚✨

7th Mar 2026

We had a wonderful time celebrating World Book Day at school this week, with a whole day dedicated to the joy of reading and sharing stories together.

The day began with an exciting Golden Ticket Hunt, where pupils searched the school grounds for hidden golden tickets linked to the well known story ‘Charlie and the Chocolate Factory’.  The hunt brought lots of laughter, and a little bit of competitiveness, as everyone scrambled to find the winning tickets.

Throughout the day children also took part in paired reading, giving the older children an opportunity to share stories with their younger peers and enjoy reading together.

The children brought in teddies, pillows and blankets to enjoy some cosy reading time.   Classrooms were transformed into calm, comfortable spaces where pupils could relax and read their favourite book.

We also hosted a book swap, allowing children to exchange books they had finished for something new to enjoy.  This was a fantastic way to promote our eco ethos and help old books find new homes.

As part of the celebrations, classes also tuned into live World Book Day lessons where pupils heard from authors, illustrators and reading experts who inspired everyone to keep exploring the world through books.

World Book Day was a fantastic celebration of reading across the whole school.  Thank you to all the staff, pupils and families who helped make the day so special.  We hope that everyone keeps enjoying great books at home and in school.
