A Welcome Return To Shared Education Activity!

17th Dec 2022

We were delighted that we were able to resume our Shared Education classes in the second half of term 1. Primary 2 enjoyed shared classes with the P2/3 class from Dromore Rd PS. The activities they were involved in are outlined below.

14th Oct 2022 Shared Play Session
Primary 2 visited Dromore Rd PS for a shared play session. They had great fun playing together and beginning to get to know each other. They really enjoyed playing in the mud kitchen in the garden area and the water area.

26th Oct 2022 Warrenpoint Park

Primary 2 visited Dromore Road PS again. There, they made nature frames. After break they took them to Warrenpoint Park to take photos and to look for signs of autumn.

8th Nov 2022 Kilbroney Forest Park

We visited Kilbroney Forest Park with our friends from Dromore Rd PS. Throughout our shared classes we have been using the book, "The Magic Harp" by local author Declan Carville, which tells the magical story of a boy called Fergal and his adventures in the forest. This gave us inspiration for our trip to Kilbroney Park. We collected all sorts of natural materials during our walk through the Narnia Trail and used these to create mandalas. The children had a very enjoyable morning and created some beautiful nature inspired artwork!

15th Nov 2022 Warrenpoint Beach

We had a lovely morning, in the Autumn sunshine, visiting Warrenpoint beach with the children from Dromore Rd Primary School as part of our 5th Shared Education lesson. We collected rocks and brought them back to school to paint.

29th Nov 2022 Parent Celebration Event

We were delighted to be able to invite parents and friends from both schools, to our school, for a shared Celebration event, showcasing the work of the P2 and P2/3 children this term.  The children did an excellent job of speaking and singing and were very proud to show off everything we have been doing together. We have all enjoyed our shared lessons this term and look forward to working together again in the future.
