Our Primary 6 pupils had a fantastic time visiting Neary Nógs Chocolate Factory as part of our WAU topic on chocolate. The children were fascinated to see the full bean-to-bar process in action, from the raw cacao beans to the beautifully packaged chocolate bars. They were captivated by the sights, sounds and smells of the factory, and loved learning about the origins of chocolate and how it’s made.
During the visit, pupils listened to amazing facts about chocolate’s journey across the globe, watched skilled chocolatiers crafting each bar with care and asked questions about the process. Of course, the highlight for many was tasting the delicious chocolate - a treat that brought smiles all round!
This experience brought our classroom learning to life and deepened the children’s understanding of fair trade, sustainability and the science behind chocolate production. A memorable day for everyone involved!
